AR 400/500

These grades are known for their ability to withstand repeated wear and impact. Used in heavy equipment such as digger blades and buckets, this material is provided in the quenched, tempered and through-hardened condition.

Tensile: 180-200 ksi TYPICAL – NOT INTENDED FOR STRUCTURAL USE
Yield: 140 ksi TYPICAL – NOT INTENDED FOR STRUCTURAL USE
Elongation: 14.8% in 8”
Brinell: 360 min/ 400 nominal

Mechanical Properties AR 500:

Tensile: 247 ksi TYPICAL – NOT INTENDED FOR STRUCTURAL USE
Yield: 187 ksi TYPICAL – NOT INTENDED FOR STRUCTURAL USE
Elongation: 11.1% in 8”
Brinell: 450 min / 500 nominal

ASTM A514

Typically used in applications such as heavy equipment and machinery requiring high yield strength, this material is offered in the quenched and tempered condition.

Mechanical Properties:

Tensile: up to 2.5” 110 to 130 ksi over 2.5” to 6” 100 to 130
Yield: up to 2.5” 100 ksi min over 2.5” to 6” 90 ksi min
Elongation: up to 2.5” 18% in 2” over 2.5” to 6” 16% in 2”
Brinell: 235—293 is typical, but it is not usually indicated on the MTRs

This chrome – moly alloy structural steel can be heat treated to your specification to achieve superior through-hardening.
